Celebrating Six Long Island Nature Photographers Who Inspire Me!
Highlighting just a few of the photographers who make Long Island’s nature community so special
It’s been about 15 years since I discovered my passion for photography, particularly capturing landscapes and wildlife. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many incredible Long Island photographers who share my love for the natural world.
One of the things I find most fascinating about this Long Island nature photography community is that I’ve never met many of these people in person, yet I still consider them friends. We connect on Instagram, support each other’s work, and often exchange feedback and critiques. I’ve even collaborated with several of them on articles for my outdoors website, ntvli.com.
This digital friendship feels especially strange to me because photography and nature are so deeply rooted in the visceral and tangible. Still, I’m incredibly grateful for the connections I’ve made. These relationships have made me a better photographer, and I feel truly fortunate to have collaborated with and befriended such talented individuals.
With that in mind, I want to take a moment to celebrate their work and express my appreciation. This post is the first of what I hope will be many, as there are simply too many talented Long Island photographers to include in one article. I also plan to do a separate post highlighting Long Island nature “content creators” in general.
For now, I invite you to enjoy the incredible work of these six immensely talented artists. I hope their photography inspires you as much as it inspires me!

Lovely shares here. Out of curiosity, as the links all appear to be to these photographers’ IG accounts, do you know whether any are here on Substack? I am quite close to leaving Instagram (all of Meta) and that leaves other platforms like Substack through which to enjoy their content. Thanks for sharing your fellow photographers and their work with us!
This is my first Substack experience! Firstly, always thankful to you, Rich! 🙏 I am also looking for Meta alternatives.... and this platform looks interesting!
